And honestly, all of that means nothing if you are getting fed the wrong information or information that is not relevant to what you are looking for. You can be spammed with a ton of information that may make the home search seem overwhelming and out of reach. There are a lot of things that you want to stay away from, as well as things that you will want to consider, that are not necessarily readily available or easily outlined on the web. 

Can you talk about a few real-life examples of mistakes you have seen buyers make?

Here at Jerry Pinkas Real Estate Experts, as you may assume, we see a lot of different situations and mistakes that people make. And unfortunately, many people find or come to us only after they find themselves in a situation that has caused a lot of frustration, wasted time and proved to be very costly. All these reasons are why we tell you to come to our team first so all these annoyances can be avoided.

One situation that sticks out for us involved a lady who purchased a condo with another realtor and after some time was wanting to list it on the market. The condo ended up being an alligator and she found herself getting bill after bill each month, and overall it ended up being a poor purchase for her. Long story short, we ended up selling the condo for her. A short time later the lady called us after watching our videos online and asked if she could come into the office to speak with an agent. She ended up leaving the office saying that after just thirty minutes of speaking with one of our agents that she learned more than the entire time she was with her previous agent. This just goes to show that we do not want you to get sold like most other real estate agents tend to do. We want to give you all the information – the good, the bad, the ugly – in hopes that you are equipped with everything you need to make the best decision for you and your family.

But that is not our only story. We had a lady and gentleman come to us after purchasing a new construction home in a subdivision and thought that they could save a little money by going into the model home and speaking directly with the builder. In the end, they actually ended up paying $50,000 more than they should have paid for the home. How do we know that? We had a buyer’s agent on our team help a family buy a home right next door, exact same layout, size, everything, for $50,000 less than that couple. We can compare this situation to someone walking into a dealership to buy a car and then be trying to negotiate the sticker price themselves.
